Greenhead Moss Community Trust was established in 1999 and is responsible for the sustainable development and management of Greenhead Moss Community Nature Park.  Site staff are managed by North Lanarkshire Council.

Over the past ten years we have:

• Maintained and enhanced the Nature Park in partnerhsip with our main partners - local volunteers, Scottish Natural Heritage, Central Scotland Forest Trust and North Lanarkshire Council.

• Employed an average of 3 local people every year;

• Trained volunteers in a variety of ground care and practical conservation skills.

• Achieved over 3000 volunteer days working to mainatain and improve the site;

• Planted over 80,000 trees; 

• Held events for over 1200 people;

• Attained a level of 85% accessible paths throughout the site;

• Worked to enhance the biodiversity of the site's habitats and species including the Perchy Pond Local Nature Reserve and proposed composite Lanarkshire Raised Bogs National Nature Reserve.

The Community Trust currently has over 120 members. The Trust board, who meet every six to eight weeks to direct management issues, consists of fourteen directors and co-opted members.
